Jessica N. McKinney, Attorney

 

Jessica grew up in Western Wisconsin and went to college at the UW-Madison in the 1980s.  Since that time she worked in Human Resources and later ran her own home construction and art business.  Later she returned to law school.  While in law school she worked with ACORN housing and assisted persons with credit repair in an effort to prepare them for HUD sponsored home purchasing programs.  After graduation, Jessica opened her own practice in St. Paul.  She has been practicing bankrupcty law for six years. 

Publications/Presentations


While attending Hamline Law School, Jessica wrote for the Hamline Law Review.  She has presented at the Minnesota "Bankruptcy Institute" sponsered by Minnesota Continuing Legal Education in October of 2008.  She and her co-panelists Clint Cutler of Frederickson and Byron and David Sasseville of Lindquist and Vennum presented on the topic of Attorney Ethics and Accountability under the Bankruptcy Protection Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA).

Jessica is admitted to the Minnesota Bar, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Jessica is a member of the Minnesota Bar Association and the Educational Chairperson of the Minnesota Bankruptcy Section, The National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and she participates in the local Bankruptcy Pro Bono Committee.

Morgan Ann Vaillant Spah, Attorney

Educational and Professional Background
 
Morgan grew up in Duluth, Minnesota and received her B.A. degree in Political Science-Public Policy the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  Upon graduating from college, Morgan moved to the Twin Cities area to attend the University Of Hamline School Of Law.  While attending law school Morgan focused her studies in the area of social justice and concentrated on gaining practical experience outside of the class room through her judicial internships and extensive work with the Minnesota Justice Foundation and the Volunteer Lawyers Network. After graduating from Hamline, Morgan continued to gain practical experience while working for Washington County Court Administration.  In April, 2007, Morgan was invited to join McKinney Law Office as an Associate.

Jolien Rushmeyer, Legal Assistant

Jolien was born in The Netherlands and moved to United States with her parents in 2000. She went to Wayzata Highschool where she graduated in 2003. During her High School career Jolien was involved in Slalom racing and community volunteer work. In 2007 Jolien graduated from St. Cloud State University with a B.A. in Political Science. While studying Political Science at SCSU Jolien was actively involved in various student organizations.
 
In October 2008 she joined the McKinney Law Office. Since working at the firm she helped to facilitate the offices' transition to become a "paper minimized" office, updated office technology and helped to streamline procedures all while remaining available to clients and providing friendly assistance.
